The Owners of Covenent Home Care

President – John Swierczewski
John Swierczewski has spent the majority of his career pursuing excellence in customer service. He is the former Manager of Service Support for the Health Imaging Division of the Eastman Kodak Company. A “refugee” from the corporate world, John founded (formerly) The Senior’s Companion in 2005 after his 2nd mission trip to Haiti. With a strong assist from Rick Warren’s book “The Purpose Driven Life”, John decided that stewardship to the Richmond community was his special calling.
John has been granted the Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®) designation by The Society of Certified Senior Advisors™. He has also been appointed to the Richmond Diocesan Commission for Older Adults by the Most Reverend Francis X. DiLorenzo.
John received a Bachelors of Science from the University of Michigan, and a Masters in Business Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology. John and his family are members of Church of the Redeemer. He is a board member of the Atlee Ruritans Club and President of Atlee Little League.

Principal/Director of Marketing – Lorna Smith
Lorna Smith began her work with seniors at age six. Growing up in a neighborhood of seniors, Lorna would visit the homes of neighboring seniors and assist with housekeeping, errands, meal preparation and even painting nails and hair care. Lorna was the founding Director of Mission to Virginia from 2002-2009. This group assists seniors with winterization and spring cleaning projects as well as assistance with errands and household tasks allowing seniors the ability to remain in their homes as long as possible. The organization received the Daily Point of Light Award from President Bush in 2007 for its humanitarian efforts.
Lorna owned and operated her own senior adult home in Doswell, Elizabeth Manor Home, from 2007-2012. She is the Past-President of Market Ashland Partnership. She has worked as the Director of Community Initiatives and as the Business Development Manager since 2010 in the home health care industry.
“Partnering with John Swierczewski was such a natural transition. We’ve been friends for 16 years, helped each other through the process of starting a senior adult home and have each worked in home health care for years. Our commitment to the Lord and our strong desire to help others, led us to join forces as we continue our walk of faith.”
